On October 23, the 2020 International Mars Society Convention announced the winners of the Mars City State Design Competition, who has best designed a city on Mars. This international company is professionally focused on the exploration and colonization of the Red Planet, and has a lot of different projects going on, so that human life on Mars becomes a reality in the near future.

 

This design project was announced by The Mars Society in February 2020, and a lot of worldwide professional teams, formed by for example scientists or architects, signed up. With a total of 175 teams, on September 28, they published the top 10 of the finalists, where it is, in sixth place, Nuwä, the spanish proposal for that international project. Then, on October 23, the top 5 winners were announced, becoming Nexus Aurora, a multy-national team proposal, in the winner and therefore, in the future capital of Mars. 

 

The aim of the project was to create the best plan for a Mars city for 1,000,000 people, developing economy, style, nutrition, politics, transport, society, culture, etc. Also they had to take into account, the food, clothing, home appliances, vehicles, electricity, water, the atmosphere, machines… and all that, taking into account to have the least possible dependency on Earth, becoming Mars independent.
